Why I Will Never Leave ADDIE
There has been a lot of hype about “new” instructional design models, and one particularly effective marketing strategy for “leaving ADDIE for SAM.” After careful consideration and practical application with more instructional design projects than I could count, I can confidently say, “I will never leave ADDIE.”
Why? Because ADDIE works. It has evolved over the last 40+ years into a more flexible process. In fact, the ADDIE process I was taught in graduate school in the late 80s already incorporated evaluative and iterative components associated with more agile modern processes.
